But I heard he was cut from the same mold as Yordan...

Re: Kikuchi from insider Nook
Supposedly the Astros sent him tape right away showing him some of the things the Astros pitching coaches and advanced scout noticed.
For all I know he could go 1-6 the rest of the way, but I am impressed by the amount of time and work the Astros put into deciding who to trade for and how they can help them improve. He has a top 5 fastball in baseball and hopefully they maximize it.

Loperfido is close to the Alvarez mold.
Yordan at 25 was in his 4th season removed from ROY and finished 3rd in MVP voting. The excitement around his MLB debut (at age 21) was through the roof.
Loperfido is a guy who only diehard fans had even heard of when he debuted. He has some tools, but the odds are against him ever being an everyday major league player.

So Tucker will continue to be out through at least Aug. 7th
Sounds like we're getting closer to a JV return and a Garcia season debut

Who could have guessed this would be the outcome of his first AB as a Blue Jay

I said their trajectory through the minors and their games were similar.
Plus, his point about him playing in college actually hurts his argument even more when you consider he's 25 and still in reality needed a year in AAA before getting an opportunity this year due to injury. I would have expected a college player with a trajectory for a productive MLB player to be ready to hit the league at 22/23/24.Ag_07 said:Quote:

I just don't see it and can't believe I'm even entertaining this with a response.
Yordan has a prolific generational hit tool specifically his power. As soon he stepped onto the big league diamond he was spraying piss missiles everywhere. Even upon his arrival Yordan was never overmatched by ML pitching. Joey's power that he showed in the minors has disappeared and is currently working his way to a 30% K rate.
Joey is nowhere close to where Yordan was he came up and don't see anything that would indicate he'll ever get close to Yordan at any time in his career.
There just aren't very many similarities between the two.

Now both Crane's miscues are gone and just a sunk costs.
Hopefully this goes a long ways towards him letting the front office do the front office things.
