Oh I do. And yet here I am still surprised

Serious question...How else was he supposed to use it?

Yeah I truly have no idea why people are so upset. Mind blowing really.
Those bullpen games are difficult to win. And they won and continue to be red hot. Why can't we ever be happy?

I'm not upset. I'm just pointing out that Hader has not been *amazing*
The Astros optioned Luis Contreras to Triple-A Sugar Land and called up reliever Kaleb Ort.

“That’s one of the catches of the year,” Carlos Correa told reporters in the Twins clubhouse postgame. “It’s got to be, right? ... He even gave a headache to the umpires, so you know how crazy that play was.”https://t.co/gxvLstRtYQ

I will say… this thread will be glorious to read through the day after we raise the trophy.

ERA isn't the whole story. It certainly works for your narrative but it's not the end all be all.
If he's not blowing saves IDGAF how many runs he gives up.

"Save conversions isn't the whole story" of a closer right after referencing ERA and ignoring all the advanced stats is sure a position.

A roughly 4.0 ERA for a star $95M closer is not good

Astros hierarchy of reported injury:
1. "Scheduled day off" = out 3-5 days
2. "Discomfort" = out 2-4 weeks
3. "Contusion, Neck Pain or the use of the word Gimpy" = out 1-3 months
4. "Bruise" = out 3+ months
5. "Mild Strain" = out 6-12 months, likely Tommy John surgery
6. "Tweaked it" = out 1 to 2 years on rehab
7. "Couldn't move it/put any weight on it" = retiring from baseball

Yeah I would care about a closer being able to convert games when we're not ahead by multiple runs, like in the playoffs.
He gives up a massive amount of homers

I didn't catch the game because I was on the road but how many of those runs was he responsible for? Just one right?
And I saw the home run. In no world should Correa have been able to turn on that pitch. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap and shrug your shoulders.
Sometimes things happen. It's baseball.

When he's asked to come in with a lead and make sure we win, he does. Fifteen times in a row. Also has had multiple more-than-three-out appearances that helped result in wins.
Every advanced / expected metric also says he's been even better than that excellent success rate. Although I sense you may not believe in advanced stats.

And again… the home run to Correa was just a great hitter hitting an almost impossible pitch. Sometimes you have to tip your cap.
