looking at the WAR metric for the Astros in 2024 so far

baseball reference lists:

Pena as 0.8 WAR

Yainer as 0.7 WAR

this seems a bit contradictory. Is Yainer having a better season than it appears? Or Pena not having as good a season?

Atlanta I haven't considered much for this year but I think that isn't a bad idea. Colorado and Arizona are/were also in consideration.

Some of what they mention has a degree of luck to it unless you believe some guys only get hits with no one on or in blowouts. I'm more concerned his defense has been bad as they mentioned at the beginning.

Pena has a bunch of infield singles -- perhaps more than 10 already this season -- including the 2 last night

Atlanta is really nice, great little neighborhood atmosphere. However I wouldn't take kids there. My daughter and I had a tough time getting an uber after the game and there were lots rowdy non-baseball fans intentionally hanging around the area where the Ubers pick you up trying to panhandle people.

Part of the consequence of building the thing out in a suburb surrounded by NIMBYs who refuse to let public transport reach it.

I do love the Battery but it's an absolute pain to get to and from.

They do if you have speed which Pena has in spades (top 1%). He's in the top 3% of the league in expected batting average.

KC was awesome. The hall of fame in LF, putt putt course, fire work show, etc. Would definitely recommend.

I am still looking forward to "shipping up to Boston" in August, although I fear we will be close to eliminated from playoff contention by then
