Miguel Cabrera made $30 MM and $32 MM for his dreadful age 38 and 39 seasons
(we'll skip his age 40 season)

So I guess that means 2029 will be the farewell tour?
I'm good with 6 more seasons of Jose.
He's going to need to average close to 160 hits per season though to reach 3,000. He needs 953

No person needs 6 jerseys from a single team. Especially the same player
This was a timely article. Couldn't read it, but the tag certainly was timely.EastCoastAgNc said:Astros owner Jim Crane on team's payroll, keeping Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman and the World Series https://t.co/YtAP5N0dSi

That's not including road jerseys or all star game jerseys or any of the other playoff jerseys that could have been purchased. Not to mention Altuve's rookie jersey is from the brick red and black logo era.

Curious as to what the going rate should have been? I know you look at a lot of stats that would probably factor into that line of thinking? Something like 5 years 100 mill?

Just looked it up. Last year hurt, but if he can stay healthy and play 140 games a year, it's about average for him. Especially since he averages another 14ish hits each post season in the playoffs on top of it.
People also forget he lost almost a full season worth of hits to Covid.

Crane on additional possible extensions: “Every one of these guys is a different situation. We’ll certainly visit with Bregman when the time comes. … We’ve got [Tucker] for two more years, so we’re just going to let him play and see how he does.”
