On one hand, Bregman's OBP skills play so well in the 2 hole. On the other hand, he has excelled in the cleanup spot. I think that is because a lot of pitchers will now pitch around 2-3 and try to get cleanup guys to chase. Bregman doesn't chase, so he hits good pitches or takes his walk.

Bregman in the cleanup spot is deadly if you slot a massive RBI guy behind him, for pitchers can dig themselves a huge hole in front of that guy. Diaz is a slugger but undisciplined, so I would still hit Abreu behind Bregman if you put him cleanup.

The analystics side of me says you go:
Altuve
Yordan
Tucker
Bregman
Abreu
McCormick
Diaz
Peña
Meyers

I know some like Tucker in the 2 hole ahead of Yordan, but Tucker is a great RBI guy that I want as backup to Yordan. Yordan is the guy pitchers fear the most. Analytics say to prioritize 2 and 4, buy I want Tucker immediately behind Yordan. So the only question is whether you put that duo 2-3 or 3-4.

I vote 2-3 with Bregman and Abreu following.

These 2 reasons and Altuve's low pitch count at bats are the reasons I'd love to see him in the 1 hole.

I think the only current guys who will have their jerseys retired would be Altuve, Yordan (if both stay their whole careers) and JV.

But ALOT of the guys from this run will be in the Astros HOF… Pressly included

He's pitched more than Framber & Javier. About the same as JV in an Astros uni.

- Keuchel (strong maybe from me)
-Verlander (yes)
-McCullers (if he comes back and produces, yes)
-Altuve (zero question)
-Bregman (yes)
-Correa (probably… but iffy)
-Springer (same as Correa but with the WS MVP)
-Gurriel (maybe)
-Tucker (needs another ring since he's likely gone)
-Alvarez (yes if he keeps it up)
-Framber (needs some hardware)
-Javier (same as Framber)
-Pressly (yes)
-Pena (yes unless he just falls off a cliff)

I think some of the guys you listed will but only if they keep up their current paces and/or bounce back to their 2022 forms (Javier and Pena)

I'd leave Marwin, Morton and Cole off. Marwin had the big game 2 HR but that HOF will be very crowded by the time he would come around

True… I guess I'm looking at it being like 2033 or so by the time any of those names pop up so I'm not sure who the ownership at that time will value.

I hope they are both in… I'm just predicting what I think the org would do by then.

I will say if I'm the Astros organization…. I'd schedule hall of fame weekend whenever all the 2017 guys come up for election on a series where we host the Dodgers or Yankees.

We won in 2017 because Hinch said **** the bullpen and let guys like Lance come in for 50+ pitches of shutdown relief. Need to learn from that.

Brad peacock getting a save of more than 3 innings in the world series was amazing. That dude was freaking nails in the postseason.
