I know we upgraded from him with Reddick but I would have loved Colby Rasmus to have been on the 2017 squad as a bench guy. His 2015 postseason run was a lot of fun

If memory serves, he kind of turned out to be a true lollygagger. He accepted the OQ and stopped trying. Then he had that inner ear problem. He was out of the league at age 31.

No, other players have accepted it. Martin Perez did it last year with the Rangers.

Better idea would be to induct the WS teams into the Astros HOF instead of a per player basis.

Pretty crazy how it's almost the exact same run.


And during that time… the bills are the Yankees. Always getting thwarted by the Chiefs/Astros

Question at this point is how much more Crane is willing to add to this season's payroll?

There might be some interesting opportunities for 1 and done contracts with players who haven't gotten whichever long term contracts they were looking for.

Late night scoop anyone?

They had conversations over the weekend with a handful of guys- bats to be specific. I want to confirm before putting a name out there, but one is a bat that's been discussed on here a few times.

I'm not saying they'll make another move, but they're being very active.

Based on the Apollo/790 tweet the other day, I am guessing Joc too. Dana has a relationship with him when the Braves traded for him in 2021. He's an ideal lefty platoon bat for LF.

Vs RHP
Chas in CF, Joc in LF with a .786 OPS

Vs LHP
Chas in LF, Jake in CF with a .785 OPS and elite D


Bet yall didn't expect their OPS to be so similar. And that wood be fair. Joc's career OPS vs RHP is .834 and he was almost .900 in 2022.

I like that less. Not because I think Soler isn't good, but he'll be more expensive & is right-handed. He, like Joc, fits the category of rental the Braves acquired in 2021. I fully expected both to be out of our price range. Maybe Crane is pushing his chips in for 2024. I am not mad about it.
