Those oblique injuries are really debilitating. Hope it's minor, because i don't really see shooting up thru it. It's a "forget swinging a bat, twisting enough to wipe your own ass kills" injury.

I'd be interested in how they determine the +/- impact.
G2 went 9 for Az 1 for Tex.
This shows 8 missed calls. I agree with the 3 listed as being missed calls that all went to Az. However, the #2 was a makeup for the blow call early to him and should have balanced. We also know several misses pointed above from Scherzer.
In the UmpsScoreCards, a missed call is 1.5" or more from the Zone.
I thought the Ump did a decent job balancing his misses. Especially to Moreno in the B9. He missed a pitch both ways and IMO became a non-factor. Even if you try to say at 3-1 a missed Ball has psychological damage, it would certainly change the hitter's approach at 2-2, and he likely swings at a close pitch #5.

I'm very conflicted on what to do the rest of the series. I had to miss games 1 and 3, couldn't post and only check the game cast every now and then bc of work. I watched game 2 and posted, and the rangers got their downs blown in. I didn't miss a game all playoffs until the world series. Do I not watch tonight and see how it goes? This is tough.

I really just tremble at the thought of Grossman having to play defense in that outfield. ESPECIALLY with Arizona having a track team on the bases.
And consider having him come in Game 5 or Game 6 if we have a lead and the starter struggles early, imo.birdman said:
I would go ahead and pencil in Gray in for Game 7 start.
This card seems to be picking and choosing on what is impactful, lol. This is why you always have to look at the data, vs blindly trusting any metrics you see put out. You can make data say whatever you want it to say, and most people will just blindly accept it.DallasAg 94 said:

I won't happen, but I would consider letting Garver catch, Grossman DH and Jankowski in the outfield.
I've just fully (mostly) accepted nothing I do as a fan impacts the game. Any superstition I come up with always ends up being proven wrong (for better or worse). Now having said that, I'm not entirely sure what Id do in your situation...but the whole point of watching the regular season is to get to enjoy the playoffs. Its been a decade since we were in World Series and there is no guarantee we come back. Watch the gamesNukeAg10 said:

John Smoltz enjoys his steaks extra well done.

Doesn't Jankowski have a low chase rate? I like that over power from Grossman. Speed in the field with a better chance to get on base and cause pressure for Arizona. We need guys on base, not sluggers right now.
We seem to be too feast or famine right now.

Is there official word on Garcia yet?
Heim, Jung and Taveras absolutely need to get going. Can't remember when Heim last hit a ball hard.Water Boy said:
The back end of the lineup was a huge key in our series victory against houston. Need those guys to get hot again if Garcia is out for the series.

Unfortunately I don't think we see Garcia again this season. Anyone who has ever pulled or strained the same muscle he did, can vouch that there's not much you can do until it heals, most certainly not play pro sports.
