Take the high road. Don't mention it at all . It'll actually make them angrier. If they bring it up, take the "awe shucks" attitude. Say something like, "I never expected this success before we even get to our window" or something slightly passive aggressive but also true

Baseball is all about player personalization. It is the reason Autographs, baseball cards, etc are important.

Postseason is when you get attached to players in a very personal way.

Post-Game, they interviewed Eovaldi and Big Papi was gushing over him, "If I were building a team, I would start with him (Eovaldi). His work ethic is on a higher level." Went on about what a great teammate he was and how he is quiet, but you are learning from him all the time.

Leclerc. Nobody wants to look back at their comments on him 2 months ago.
7G, 7.1 IP, 1ER, 7SO, 3-for-3 in Saves. Such a gutsy showing. Bochy showed a ton of confidence getting 4 Outs and even when he seemed to struggle, never even needed a mound visit.

Taveras was left for dead 2 months ago. Anyone want to go back and see what they said about him?!

Sending Scherzer out there is almost like an "F U, we have unlimited pitchers." I think Max needs this as much as the team. He seems like the type that would not feel good about winning without contributing.

Heaney and Dunning were up in the BP during G1. I don't think that would be more than just a mid rotation BP session, since the didn't get into the game.

Available, IMO:
Max (R), Heaney (L), Dunning (R)
I would be elated with 3 Scoreless from Max. Heaney or Perez for 3.

G4 would be Gray (R), backed by Perez (L)?
G5 - Monty, if Necessary

I say Max goes as long as he wants and if he's getting outs.

It's the post season. Not time to preserve arms. If they're that worried about him, he shouldn't play.

With all that said… can't wait to see Mad Max back on the mound!

Yeah, kinda crazy the Rangers, Astros, and Phillies all finished the season at 90-72. Sweeping them to open the season back in April would be our tie-breaker...every game counts!

Max will have a pitch count, but they aren't going to pull him after three innings if he's getting outs. We don't have that luxury.
