He went 2-4 last lefty he played against. I myself am a baseball coach. I don't like sitting hot players, players that have helped carry us over the last several games. He has been huge for us. When he plays, we win. It's hyper technical, looking at R vs L with how hot he's been. I wouldn't sit him. Has been a crazy boost at back end of order with team on his back a few of these games. I hope we put him in. Total buzzkill not seeing him in todays lineup. It's about momentum and putting our best lineup out there for this stretch to the playoffs.

Grossman has been hot too, with a .964 OPS vs lefties. Carter is 0-6 in the bigs vs lefties and has .595 OPS vs lefties in the minor leagues. It's the right move.

I understand. We also have to use our players. Carter is a rookie. There's metrics and statistics, percentage plays too. Not just feel or players being hot. Maybe Carter will get his chance at the end of this one.

Another factor might be that he's been playing everyday lately, and in the minors they just play 6 games a week. We don't have any more off days in the regular season. So facing a lefty plus maybe he needs a break... adds up to a day off for Carter.
Angels just put a righty in, so Carter might pinch hit at some point.
