IMO a guy like Janikowski not being able to get a bunt down on that pitch is ****ing inexcusable. Guy gets opportunity of a lifetime to stick with a big league club but he can't execute fundamentals.

I think fans tend to hear their home broadcast which is going to be positive on the players/staff 99% of the time (as you just heard Raymond reference Bochy and Janikowski "swinging a relatively hot bat").

Scherzer and Montgomery -- two guys that we got at the deadline -- are the guys actually pulling their weight the last month or two. Those aren't Maddux projects.

I don't dislike Maddux, but he's insanely over-praised.

Janikowski is batting 0.165 for the month.

It's one thing if this is a MLB regular and you know it will eventually rebound.

But before this season this guy was a lifetime 0.225 hitter.

Speed is the one thing he does well, which means any bunt actually puts a little pressure on the defense.

Giving him a chance to swing away until he gets a strike is something you give veterans or good hitters a chance to do.

****ing inexcusable to let him swing away two at-bats in that scenario.

Gotta take the dog out and throw the ball even for just 5-10 minutes.

It's absolutely nuts -- Minnesota willing to bunt in extras with their #2 hitter, but we're leaning on Travis Janikowski to deliver a hit for us.

Maddux was Scherzer's pitching coach ('16, '17) when he won 2 Cy Youngs in Washington.

Maddux was Montgomery's pitching coach when he was in St. Louis the past 2 seasons.

At least in the case of Scherzer, he had the choice to veto a trade to Texas.

I'm not saying he is perfect. He is likely overrated, but he has served the Rangers well.

The Rangers are currently #1 in AL ERA for a SP.
I believe the Rangers were like #2 in the AL prior to the ASB.

Happens way too often with this team. Bullpen is a big issue but imo the bats and the manager's decision making are a bigger ones, especially late in games.
