Having said that... the reason I quit watching the NBA was because they had 2 sets of Fouls. Jordan could walk from mid-court and the Refs made SuperStars. If a player missed a shot a phantom foul would be called. A&M had a Tourney game (S16?) a few years ago. Clear foul on an A&M shooter that wasn't called at the end of the game. The commentators said, "You just can't call that at the end of the game." Very next year, same situation except reversed. It was a less aggression foul by an A&M player at the end of the game and the Refs called it. Commentators were like, "You just have to call that. You have to give the player a chance to shoot."
Too many influential calls are being shown to sway games. Calling fouls on Nowitski early in G1 and G2 against Miami in the Finals was critical. Not because they were bad calls, but because now you've taken Nowitski out of the game. For a P... if you aren't giving them the right calls, they feel they have to make different throws the rest of the game.
Come on now, you want refs to call ticky tack fouls like this? I mean, he's only got his hand around Sloan's wrist. You can't call that at the end of the game...
