2023 just got boldly fascinating.
I'd get the Dodgers on Line 1 for either Heaney or Perez.
Am told the Rangers and Mets have agreement in place on Scherzer, pending his agreement to waive no-trade clause.

There are complications that must be worked out, I'd assume. I'd assume Rangers want to work out having Scherzer in '24, though maybe not at $43 mm out of pocket.
Heard this was disciplinary and not part of a trade package for Scherzer. https://t.co/MoBvGXZmPz

Max Scherzer has just been informed of the agreed-upon trade to Texas. Ball is in his court.

What does this do with our rotation. Does it put Dunning back in the pen?

I hope not. The guy has a top 10 ERA.
Mike Maddux was the pitching coach in Washington in two of Scherzer's Cy Young years.

Like all potential trades, this one also is pending a medical review. Scherzer just turned 39. He has had side and back issues this season, and also had oblique issues last season. https://t.co/oetJM6kBJL

Max Scherzer will waive his no-trade clause to go to the Texas Rangers, sources tell me and @SteveGelbs. However, the trade is NOT complete, according to a source. There are other issues to work through, not on the players being exchanged but on the financial side.

EG's article also said that Maddux was Max's pitching coach with Washington, so maybe he thinks there's something he's seen and can fix (or maybe pushing for MS over JV)?

Heyman is of the opinion that the Padres and Cubs will not sell. If this is the case we need to go get Hicks now and call the Mets back to get Raley.
Neither Luisangel Abuña nor Thomas Saggesse are in the Frisco lineup tonight.
