Cuz Bochy is a terrible manager. His decision making has contributed just as much as anything to this rut we've been in, in the 2nd half.

Agreed. He's been awful. No better than Woodward, who sucked.

It's unbelievably depressing. Until we are eliminated from post-season, I'm sticking with Bochy and Co. We've been up and down starting June 1. Have to hold out hope that we can start winning games again.
Now we have to hope that we're just the Twinkies ***** and we'll start winning after they leave town tomorrow. The Twinkies have really hurt our playoff chances, confidence, and season.South Platte said:

They've pushed the dagger in real deep with 4 of our losses to them falling in the "frustrating to agonizing" loss category.
The Twinkies aren't anything special but we just can't seem to hold a lead on them and when they do get ahead of us, we just give up and crumble.

I've mentioned this issue multiple times... at the Trade Deadline as well as, at the Sept1 deadline. Why some teams (like the Rangers) may not want to put in claims for Angels players. Angels needed to get under the CBT threshold and put up enough guys to get there.

Your question is really about what role is Smith (25) playing?!
He is playing Util. We need someone who can play multiple positions.
WRT the 40, there are 3 options currently on the 40. Sam Huff (currently on Active), Ornelas (23), and Dustin Harris (OF-23).
We'd need to dump a player to make way for adding anyone you'd like to consider.
Damn. This game is trending like so many have lately. Rangers with an early lead, miss numerous golden opportunities to add on, and the bullpen blows it late. Not sure I can watch.
It's amazing how many times we can let a piss poor pitcher off the hook time after time. It's always one good inning and then blown opportunity after blown opportunity. No doubt the bullpen will blow this if the bats don't wake the **** up.

I know his positional versatility is valuable, but I'd be totally fine cutting him loose.
