Hoping his catch late last night provided a spark despite being too little too late.

You know what's funny.. a few years ago I was told that AJ Hinch didn't like Tucker at all when he was coming up. He always said he had all the talent in the world but he didn't like what he saw between the ears.
Obviously, Tucker turned out just fine. But I think this is what Hinch was talking about.
That being said- it just takes one swing. Let's hope it happens tonight.
We aren't. So far today, my productivity consists of refreshing this thread a multitude of times and reading tons of Astros-related tweets. I'm probably going to have to work this weekend to make up for today (LOL).Cromagnum said:

Plus we get mad at guys like Dubon for swinging at pitches outside the zone but I wonder how many can be traced back to awful calls made by the ump in an earlier at bat.txags92 said:That is terrible. Who knows, maybe it fires up the team when they inevitably screw us over. I could easily see this backfiring on MLB and their wishes for the rangers to advance.Ag_07 said:
The home plate umpiring this entire series has been complete dog cheet.
And I don't think it's been really lopsided to one team or the other. It's been overall trash for both teams. Embarrassing for MLB that they don't have better umpires for LCS games.
Seriously...what's the point of rankings when the guys ranked in the middle to lower half are umpiring the ALCS?
Also as a bonus...It's fckn ludacris that we won't hear anything on Abreu until 5 pm.
Yes, and seemingly unaware of the situation and the opportunity. Tucker had just walked and Leclerc was having trouble with control. Bases loaded and nowhere to put him. At minimum, go up there and see a pitch. Nope, flails at the first 2 that are off the plate.Beat40 said:
Dubon was because he isn't that disciplined at the plate. His AB was not because of the home plate umpire.

Bad calls have a way of cascading throughout a game to really F*** over one team if they're not bad on both sides, which they rarely are.

Dubon swings at 8 of every 5 pitches he sees the whole season
Based on historicals, likely to see production from Brantley, Yordan, Abreu and the entire bottom 3rd of the lineup. Less likely to see production from Altuve, Bregman or Tucker.

Can Bags get the ball to the plate?
Will anyone be able to hear Andre Johnson say "play ball"?bearkatag15 said:Game 7 pregame festivities:

We need at least 5 innings from CJ tonight, preferably 6. Anything more is a bonus and clearly things are going well for us. We've got France and HB fully rested for the middle. Neris and Maton should be good to go, and fully rested Pressly for the 9th inning shut down.
I think it's more about the number of times through the order for CJ than it is innings. There's really nobody on the pitching staff that won't be available tonight outside of probably Framber. Everybody else will have their spikes on and ready to come in if necessary.
CJ, France, HB, Neris, Abreu, Pressly…even JV. Let's get it done!
That is one of my biggest complaints re: situational hitting. We keep seeing ABs where the guy before the hitter was walked on 4-5 pitches, and the next guy up is swinging at the first pitch way outside the zone. I get that guys with nasty movement are going to get some of those kinds of swings, but watching a couple of pitches to see if they can actually throw a strike would seem like a better choice if the guy in front of you just took a 4-5 pitch walk.Wabs said:Yes, and seemingly unaware of the situation and the opportunity. I'd be better if they won yesterday and it was a highlight of a really bad weekend. I got laid off Friday so not much positive in life at the moment
He's like Altuve without the track record of success or overall talent.astros4545 said:Prosperdick said:Plus we get mad at guys like Dubon for swinging at pitches outside the zone but I wonder how many can be traced back to awful calls made by the ump in an earlier at bat.txags92 said:That is terrible. Sorry to hear that man ... Definitely some perspective there, hope you land back on your feet quickly and it ends up being one of those where you end up in a better situationLonestar_Ag09 said:

I bet that night he got lit and was grabbing boobs on live TV while sitting behind home plate was a fun conversation.texasaggie2015 said:
He's actually been sober for a while now. The Astros had a condition in place with Bags that he wouldn't be welcomed back until he sobered up. He's been doing much better. He was in a really dark place for a while apparently. This is just based off what I've been told.
