Dubon is a Gold Glove finalist at second and utility. He's no slouch on defense. Peña could pinch run for Brantley late in the game and stay in to play defense, sliding Chas over to left and Dubon to center.
When you're trying to win game 7, you sometimes have to give yourself the best chance to win. Peña is not 2022 post season Pena and hasn't been all season. It's a completely different situation than you have with Tucker. Peña's inability to lift the ball right now makes him a strikeout or groundout candidate nearly every at bat. If Maldy has to be behind the plate, then we need to strongly consider sitting Pena in favor of a batter that's been hitting the ball better all postseason, and arguably all season.
Man, I totally get where you're coming from. I'm just saying that Dusty won't do it. In the event that Dubon is not in the starting lineup, I fully expect him to be first off of the bench if the situation calls for it.
