Ok. I'm going to throw this out there. JV is a lucky man. Not for Kate. But for getting to come back in July to continue the string of 7 straight.

I'd take Kate over 7 straight,

How about Burkhart saying they're headed to their fall condo in Houston followed by Big Papi screaming 'I'm a Houston citizen now!'.

Look up Rougned Odor. Not the one you're thinking of, the other one… his brother. Who is also named Rougned Odor.

Man, what a ride. Seriously. 7 straight ALCS. This has to be a baseball mathematical impossibility.

It can't be overstated. Back when the Braves did it, you didn't have to win a divisional round to reach the LCS until 95 while they were in the middle of their run. To win an elimination round 7 straight seasons is not likely to be duplicated for a very, very long time. The Dodger and Braves last year and maybe now this year are proof of how difficult it is.

Yup. I was 100% wrong about how he'd do in this game, and when they were hitting him hard early in the 1st it only affirmed my very very wrong belief.

His ERA on the year was 5.3, and particularly bad in the past month. But none of that mattered tonight.

No doubt about it. He proved me very wrong tonight.

The crazy thing about the Astros making it to 7 straight ALCS is the players the team lost/replaced and kept winning.

Over that timeframe, the Astros lost Correa, Springer, Keuchel, Cole, Greinke and Morton to free-agency. McCullers, Verlander and Framber lost parts/all of season to injuries. Yet the team kept winning.

The Astros have done a great job of picking up a couple key free agents (Brantley, arguably Abreu), and developing some guys that have become studs or solid players (Tucker, Alvarez, Bryan Abreu, Chaz). They have done amazingly well with the "next man up" mentality.

The team building they've done over the last decade is one for the ages. Build most of our players up in the minors and bring them up. Trade for a few key spots. When one has left, one has been replaced with youth. He'll we had 2 rookies in the rotation most of the year to keep us going. Building teams the right way.

If the higher ranked farm systems were that good some of those players would not be there.

Peña, Diaz, France were pulled out of the worst system in the league allegedly over last 2 years

Aside from Neris first batter or two, bullpen was NAILS! A little worried about Pressly after the stumble off the mound and how he was flexing his right wrist/hand.

But damn, what a clutch win to close this series!
