Lots of Abreu talk on the thread. Heard today on local radio that since he came back on Aug 25 from his multi-day rest, his OPS is .865 and I think he led AL in RBIs in Sept...and now we see what he's doing in the post-season. This is the guy we were hoping for when we signed him.

It's wild that we've beat 7 different teams in the ALDS. That's ****ing incredible.

The crazy thing about the Astros making it to 7 straight ALCS is the players the team lost/replaced and kept winning.
Over that timeframe, the Astros lost Correa, Springer, Keuchel, Cole, Greinke and Morton to free-agency. McCullers, Verlander and Framber lost parts/all of season to injuries. Yet the team kept winning.
The Astros have done a great job of picking up a couple key free agents (Brantley, arguably Abreu), and developing some guys that have become studs or solid players (Tucker, Alvarez, Bryan Abreu, Chaz). They have done amazingly well with the "next man up" mentality.

I feel happy that Brantley gets to participate and make an impact this year too. Even though he got a ring last year I'm sure it was bittersweet with his absence in the playoffs
