I think the Twins are better than most think, but if they advance, the fact that they're having to use Lopez and Gray now will benefit us. The Jays have a deeper rotation.

They have 95 M committed to 5 starting pitchers in 2024 and ~243 M in total for those 5 arms (Scherzer, deGrom, Eovaldi, Gray, & Heaney). I doubt they want to spend too much (75-125 M, I would guess for Monty) when they have quite a few bodies to replace.

It's kind of a high-risk, high-reward play. We should have an advantage in G1. But if we blow it then we have to survive their 1-2 punch in games 2 and 3.

I mentioned it earlier. I assumed it was ARod (maybe its not?). He was basically talking about it being a thing before Gausman threw a pitch. Like he expected it.

Sure but how many teams can say they have been to the postseason 5x in a row. They do it with a fraction of the payroll too.

Yeah getting to the playoffs hasn't been an issue … but doing anything in the playoffs has. Minus the weird 2020 season they haven't won a series
