I'd be willling to bet it was a hit and run and it's an awful call with a guy who doesn't handle the bat well at all..swings at ball 3 and 4 bc **** Altuve with RISP right?

Swinging at balls 3, 4, and 5 to strike out...never change Maldy. For somebody who is such a student of the game and spends so much time researching stuff, he has a terrible eye for the strike zone. You would think catchers would see it better than anybody catching and framing pitches game after game.

Just hard headedness. They know Maldy is apt to GIDP so instead of doing the most intelligent thing and sitting him, they try to hit and run on a 2-1 pitch.

Leave the bat on your shoulder and worst case scenario is 2 outs runner on first
