Blue Jays and Twins both will gain a game on the Astros.
Mariners and, we hope, Rangers won't … this time.

So I guess Maldy didn't straighten Hunter out?
So the rangerettes back in 2017 were actually trying to help us out.Cromagnum said:
No more home games. If it's too many distractions, the front office needs to figure the **** out.
And all those times Dusty was trotting out those Hensley/Madris special lineups, no one realized that he was trying to get the non-home field advantage for the playoffs. 4D chess right there.Shayboy3 said:
Any way we can just play road games??
Quit making excuses for them. This is serious business we are dealing with here. Losing 40% of the time is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by this fan base. The Porkchop Express said:
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like some people on this thread expect the Astros to win every single game and are furious and desperate to point fingers when they don't?
It's baseball. The very best teams are still losing 40% of the time.

Meanwhile Lance McCullers Jr needs twenty doctors and the jaws of life to extract him from the mound…Houston players are just built different. https://t.co/RFuc5gnbpU

I'd say the games matter equally no matter what time of the year it is. They all count the same in the standings. The main difference is if you take care of the games you should win from April - July, then the final 60 don't feel as important because you're comfortable.
Our issue is we didn't take care of a lot of those games and have been playing from behind up until Wednesday 9/6.

Rangers are 2 games under .500 since June 1. They made their noise in April/May. Since then they have been trying to tread water.
They are proof positive that you can't win the title in April.

.625 on the road and .500 at home with a negative run differential is worthy of consternation, pillory, examination, or anything else. It seems like it should be impossible.
Sorry. Wasn't criticizing. It was just an offhand comment. I was looking this morning and didn't realize how much of an early season paper Tiger they really were.tjack16 said:Mathguy64 said:tjack16 said:astros4545 said:

Didn't say you can win the title in April. Just saying every game counts the same in the standings no matter when the game is. This September just feels more important because in the past we had a comfortable lead by now
