If I am Chas and the Astros bring back Dusty, I would ask for a trade. Unless the front office guarantees I am an everyday player, why would I want to be benched this much for the positive contributions to the team? Especially when people like Julks and Maldy are suck detriments and they get more playing time.

Yesterday was an F You Dusty game. There is absolutely no reason Chas and Yainer should ever be out of this lineup. If Maldy has to catch, then Yainer needs to play 1B or DH. Period. It's clear as ****ing day.

Unfortunately for Chas, he just sits at the intersection of what an old school manager "feels" like starting CF should look/play like and what modern analysis says he actually is.

The Dusty/Chas rift has been going on for some time now and I don't think I've seen any report definitively stating what the cause is. Just a lot of vagaries about his work ethic or attitude or some other BS like that.

Until I see conclusive evidence otherwise, I think it's pretty clear that Dusty is taking it personally that he was wrong about Chas. For all his strengths as a manager (and he does have strengths), this is by far his biggest weakness. Not knowing when to concede he was wrong.

I think Dusty sat in meetings with the front office a few years ago and talked gushingly about Siri and Straw as guys who have the CF "look". Chas' unorthodox approach at the plate and lack of ability to effortlessly and sexily glide to balls in the OF blinded Dusty to his potential. He's likely doubled and tripled down on Chas never being as good as the front office thought he could be.

Now, every dinger Chas hits. Every additional point he tacks onto his WAR. Every good play he makes in the field. Fuels Dusty's bitterness about being wrong. And he clings to every Chas strike-out or caught stealing as justification for doing what he wanted to do in the first place: put a guy in CF who, in his sole opinion, "looks" like a CF.

In years past, before advanced stats were a wide-spread thing, he could get away with it. He could put his experience and judgment up against anyone who challenged him. Now, he's bitter that nerds can easily trump his wisdom with data that's acceptable to everyone.

Whenever he quotes stats, like how internal projections said Singleton should PH for McCormick against Holmes, I think he's lying out of his ass. It's his way of trying to denigrate a system that has made his "feel" much more obsolete.

Not sure if he was just trolling with the the Julio Rodriguez comment the other day or if he really meant it. I'm pretty sure he meant it. And it just speaks to his bitterness about being wrong blinding him from seeing what's right in front of him. That he has that caliber of CF on his roster.

Forget WAR, we need to start Diaz at C with Framber and JV at least once in the regular season in case it becomes a necessity in the postseason. It's basic and simple contingency planning.

Salisbury this morning was discussing our win record at home.

Many on here have stated we have no right to have won 10 or more additional games due to better lineups and keeping guys rolling.

Other division leaders are roughly 40-20 at home this year, were .500, I truly believe this team is we fixed home games and played our best players we could have at least 10 more wins
