I get it but how good can he be at 1B? Do you know? Because we have a crap ton of Outfielders in farm system.

If we sign Tucker long term they need to think about 1B for him with all the capable OF we seem to have. I don't know. What are your thoughts on that move
Completely agree...I don't like the thought of him up with men on and Chas waiting on deck. It will be even more frustrating if he leads off the next inning with a home run.texasaggie2015 said:
I would flip Chas and Jon but other than that I love it.
Agreed. I think it has more to do with alternative right vs left.texasaggie2015 said:

I don't get the obsession with first base and our farm system. The Astros rely on trades and free agency just as much as drafting into the farm systemtexasaggie2015 said:
1. Yordan is not playing first base.
2. Tucker won't be playing first base any time soon.
3. Not all of the outfielders in the farm system project as good big league outfielders. Example: Baez and Loperfido. There's a big possibility one of these guys ends up at first.

Ty France leads the American League with 22 HBP
Mentioned it on The Athletic’s real time updates the other day, but top Astros prospect Jacob Melton has “left hamstring discomfort,” which is why he hasn’t played at High-A since Aug. 8

Yainer will clear the bases so we need Big Jon next so he can walk and give Chas someone to drive in.Prosperdick said:Completely agree...I don't like the thought of him up with men on and Chas waiting on deck. Michael Brantley is at Minute Maid Park to work out with the Astros today. He said he’s playing tomorrow with Sugar Land and pleased with how he’s feeling in rehab games. He said his timing at the plate is “better than I probably expected.”

José Urquidy, who made his last start on Sunday, said he will be available in the bullpen for the Astros today vs. the Mariners. If he doesn’t pitch today, he’ll be back in there tomorrow and probably make his next start next week.

Astros looking to keep all six starters fresh.

Listening to Blum on 790 and he makes a great point.
The Astros depleted farm system will produce 3 guys who will receive ROY votes with all 3 probably finishing in the top 5.
Brown, France, and Yanier
Kyle Tucker came in feeling sick today and has been scratched from the lineup, per Dusty Baker. Astros will move Chas McCormick to right field and start Jake Meyers in center

I'm telling you guys. There's no player who has worked harder this season than Yainer Diaz. He's spent countless hours working with the hitting coaches on his plate discipline, meeting with Maldy in regards to game preparation, and working on defense at three different positions. The organization is ecstatic.
So shouldn't one of those guys learn to play first in the minors?2ndChanceAg96 said:

No, you do not start learning 1st base until you hit the show. It is a right that you have to earn. The Porkchop Express said:So shouldn't one of those guys learn to play first in the minors?2ndChanceAg96 said:
