Tucker does play it the right way. There is something to be said about his even keeled attitude whether they win or lose. Has has fun, but is never a showboater and is always very simple and speaks highly of his teammates and tries to not make it about him when speaking with Julie after the game. I very much appreciate and respect that.

Now if he could only convince Peña to stop with that damn gangsta walk everywhere he goes, most notably when he's walking back to the dugout after striking out. It's so damn annoying how his mannerisms are like he's Barry bonds or the something. It's like dude, your a below avg hitter. Zero pitchers are intimidated by you…… old man yells at cloud. I apologize for my Peña rant.

So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and I'm guessing this is the first time Farmer doesn't show up and post some random stat that proves me wrong...

The Yordan/Tucker combo back to back in the order is pretty fckn good.
its a damn shame it took Dusty until August to complete the toodler level difficulty puzzle of that.

the Mariners (61-52) win again

just 1 game in the loss column behind the Blue Jays (64-51) for the last wildcard

it may take 90 wins to get a playoff spot in the American League this year

30-18 gets us to 95 wins. If we get 2/3 at Lowes, does that win the division...

it's hard to say because a bunch of teams will lay down in September...and playoff contenders can rack up the wins

strangely enough...it's important for Seattle to stay in the race because the Mariners play the Rangers 7 times in the final 2 weeks of the season -- including the final 4 games of the year

the Astros still have 15 games left vs. the AL East...and none of these games are easy (as we saw tonight)

hard to believe the 'stros still haven't played the Red Sox yet this year

Astros learning hard lesson that no-hitters only count for 1 in the W column, while ****ty outings nullify it 1 week later.

That's funny. He's a good poster over there though. I agree with him a lot.

We might luck out a little and get them after they've given up.

They are 5 games out of the WC and would need to jump 3 teams.

Looking at pitching the next 5 games it doesn't show JP France starting .. are we giving him a break or is Urgrisy better ? I wouldn't think so ? This is based on ESPNs showing of pitchers

As long as the present team stays healthy they'll do just fine.

Needed somebody to go to the bullpen, pretty sure Brother Phil's arm is about to fall off.

Re Farm Strength

Astros could have a top whatever farm ranking with Pena and Diaz still in Sugar Land.

Again if your farm is that good why aren't they in the show already?

Of course I got a hunny on Ted at 40-1 to win the AL MVP and Ohtani is gonna win it.

After being stuck at 0.5 GB for like a week we are now back to 4 GB. Great
you need to get rid of your crystal ball. After the comeback win we are still 3 games back . You still have to get 27 outs before the game is decided. Bet you're a blast at parties.

While he was flying combat missions in WW 2, Ted Williams' plane accidentally went through a time vortex that put him into the year 2025 .Before he could salvage the parts to get it back, he turned on a TV and saw Kyle Tucker winning the AL MVP for hitting .783 with 97 HR and 427 RBI in the 2025 season. Williams was able to emulate the swing enough to put it to use once he got back through the vortex to his own time.

"Tucker owns "The Science of Hitting," Williams's treatise, but he is not given to philosophizing about his craft in the same way. Speaking of Williams (whom he called "that guy," without ever speaking the full name aloud), he said, "I'm sure he was just trying to hit the ball as hard as he could in the air and drive the ball out of the park. I mean, that's what we all try and do." He'd begun the season in Fresno, and professed not to notice when, two weeks ago, the Astros' general manager, Jeff Luhnow, celebrated his promotion to Houston by tweeting, "Ted is here," along withoddlya gif showing the Death Star activating its planet-destroying energy beam."

welcome to the 2019 thread. AggiEE said for 4 months that Reddick was the better option until one day, he didn't anymore.

Every pitch Reddick saw, every AB, Every night. Yall think we moan about Dusty's line up too much, go check September of that thread (but don't forget to look back and see how he backed Reddick first).

That's a season changing type of Game/AB

Remember last year when Altuve walked it off against the Yankees the day after Sanchez and Judge mocked him by trotting around the bases and tugging on their jerseys? And the tear the Astros went on after that? This kind of has that same feel.

I know Bautista is having an incredible season, but I wonder if he got caught up in the moment? Seems like he was over-throwing, threw Tucker one fastball that bounced three feet in front of the plate. I don't care how hard you can throw, if you let a hitter like Tuck sit on your fastball it won't go well.
That was in 2021 against NY, but to your point, the Saturday night game late last season in Baltimore was that turning point for me when I knew we would probably win the title. Bautista may have had some flashbacks to that night when he blew the lead. I give him credit for not pitching around guys tonight, though that wasn't the smart move in hindsight like Maton did on Sunday.
