He wasn't exactly lights out. Pitched into and out of trouble. Every inning was high leverage. Plus it's the 8th inning and you have a 3-run lead...should be able to depend on the pen at this point.

He wasn't sharp. He had thrown 70 pitches in 3 innings. I wasn't upset Neris got the 8th. Neris just didn't keep guys off base.

Just no one super sharp today.

If he would have been sharp and kept guys off the bases, I think he would have gone further. Just wasn't sharp.

So to recap this game… we have seen the following

- 2 Jake Meyers homeruns (6RBI)
- Maldonado bomb
- the single worst relief appearance I can remember by an Astro in the last couple of years (Maton with 2 walks and a HBP to tie the game)
- one of the best regular season relief appearances by an Astro we've seen this year (France with 3.1 shutout innings)
- 12 Yankees left on base
- 13 strikes outs by Astros hitters
- 10 walks by Astros pitchers
- an Angel Hernandez special behind the plate all game

And still an inning to go
