Dusty might be considered a "people person" and a great coach to some but from his track record of never winning **** until last year, and his self absorbed comments he needs to hit the ****ing road. He literally thinks he knows more about baseball than anyone on the planet yet it took him 100 years coaching and a stacked team gifted to him on a silver platter to win one. Not to mention any decent coach in his position would've won more with the teams he was given.

I wonder if Dusty doesn't like the fact that he isn't being consulted on potential trades (I hope he isn't).

Anyway, this kind of reminds me of Keuchel complaining that the Astros weren't making any moves before the deadline in '17. And we know how that turned out.

I will say that last year I understood more of Dusty's decisions. He had a new team and had to figure out what roles he could trust guys in once we got to the post season. This year, he seems to be more stubborn around certain guys when there is a more clear path to be taken.

Last I heard (this could have changed) Dana, Dusty and Crane and other execs meet fairly often to discuss potential roster moves. I have no idea how much input Dusty actually has.

I almost posted about 10 times today something similar to the following:

Regarding JV, if you're a gambling man, how much would you bet on JV hitting 140 IP next year? Is it worse to pay him next year after coming up short of a WS championship? Do you fear him getting hurt for a lot of the year?


Obviously, it's not my money, but if you can get another ring in '23, might be worth the risk for '25.
