Graveman has had a rough July giving up 5 ERs in 8.2 innings with a 5.19 ERA.

In May and June combined he had a 1.88 ERA.

So who gets sent down? Seth?

Should be Martinez …. But I'd imagine Mushinski will.
we need a left handed pitcher on the bullpen. Mushinsky has performed better in a limited time.

.548 OPS and 8 passed balls

gets the idea going

as it should

But you say it like the organization is seriously considering it. They aren't. So the comment just gets old.

I don't know where this idea about DFAing Maldy has come from, but it's quite annoying. It's never going to happen

Can you blame Astros fans for thinking this? We've been conditioned to expect good, efficient and sometimes ruthless roster moves for the last 8 years. This move would have been made already every year except this year where we're suddenly hell bent on catering to veteran nepotism

one reason why the Astros' golden era is lasting so long...

the franchise has been really good at getting the best years of a player...and then moving on from that player

The only real "miss" we had was not extending Charlie Morton.

Springer, Correa, Keuchel, Osuna, Cole (too expensive to justify) we all hit on not keeping
also there were rumors/discussions etc saying Morton was planning to retire soon I don't know if I want to sign a guy who has that mindset…it obviously changed but I remember hearing it talked about

Getting graveman is important not just for this year but next year..

The Astros could lose Maton to his locker again

So we're adding sore arms to lighten the burden on the existing sore arms

Click did every thing in his power to limit Moldy's playtime last year. Probably cost him his job in doing so. 0% chance he would have resigned him if he were GM

Dude, like 4 years ago they didn't resign him and then traded for him half a year later the following season, a lot based on his handling of the staff.

I'm sorry, I'm just tired of the Maldy DFA tall because it's not going to happen. Not 2 months before the postseason.

Unless Dana puts his foot down and issues some sort of ultimatum, he's catching the majority of the second half of the season too. I just think the complaining about Maldy is pointless.

Guys… Maldy was never getting DFA'd. Not a chance.

This is a good trade. Lee was blocked and there's familiarity with Graveman. Helps both teams.

Hopefully Graveman fixes whatever his issues are in July and returns to what he was in May and June.

It helps he's going to a team that is familiar with him.

Hit rate drops after the first 15 picks or so but regardless you can't keep that streak going forever.

Would you classify 3 as "busts" and the other (Whitley) as incredibly bad luck (which is probably still gonna be a bust)?

Man it would be strange seeing Bellinger in an Astros uniform. But a good kinda strange.

Forrest Whitley is like that $2 bill you have in the drawer that you keep instead of spending because it could be worth something more……….someday
