I would love it, I don't care if he doesn't even play. He's one of my favorite Astros ever. Reminds me I need to find a Greinke jersey. Greinke Space City would be awesome and appropriate

I think when we buy this is a pool we need to pull from. We have Tucker thru 2025, Chas thru 2026, & Alvarez thru 2028. If we feel confident about Gilbert in the next 1-2 years plus Baez & Gomez in 2-4 years then we should really look at moving on from a few of Julks, Meyers, Leon, Dirden, Daniels, & Barber.

I know it's very early, but we might have something in Parker Mushinski.

Pitch - Pitch % - Stuff+
Curve - 33.6% - 174
Cutter - 28.0% - 101
4-Seam - 18.2% - 89
Slider - 16.1% - 147

If Stuff+ doesn't mean much to you, that's okay. It takes in account velo, spin, horizontal & vertical movement, release point & extension, spin efficiency, & the difference in velo & movement from the primary fastball. And as with other "+" stats, 100 is the league avg and the amount over or under 100 is the % better than the league avg.

For comparison, Pressly has a 154 stuff+ on his curve ball & Bryan Abreu has 145 stuff plus on his slider. It is only 7.2 IP of work so I am sure the #s are still settling in, but on the other hand, stuff is stuff. It shouldn't wildly fluctuate.

He was looking good and had a lot of movement on most of his pitches. Makes sense with that low fastball %.

That IS very interesting - I had no idea his stuff numbers were playing so high.

If those indeed are true to form and not statistical noise, I imagine we would encourage him to lean more on the cutter and less on the 4-seam. If he can consistently throw strikes with the cutter, he may not need the 4-seam as he can lean on the two breaking balls as out pitches.

Jake had a .760 OPS on June 10th

Julks had a .751 OPS on July 6th

teams would be interested in them at those numbers (plus years of control)

The Dodgers are top tier at development. But you can afford to trade some off when you go out and sign guys to 365 M & 165 M dollar deals.

Also I don't think Julks value has changed at all. He's in a funk but he's been hitting the ball hard. It's not like teams just look at his stat line on baseball reference.

Also I know I'm slacking on the updates this week. I've been traveling for work so I haven't been in the loop as much as usual.

Yep. That's their DH and #1 starter all in one package. 6-7 weeks would basically get them to mid September.

And that's the chance you take with Shohei. If he goes down it's 2 superstars in one.

MLB ballpark app. You can retroactively add games you went to. It's a good way to kill an afternoon

My parents didn't really take us to games much when I was younger unless it was like a random "somebody gave us tickets" type of thing. They only cared about football and we didn't have much money… so any games before 2012 are hard to find for me but I was able to add a few of them.
Thanks for the info! But also, I really wish you hadn't given me this. Because this is going to be a time waster beyond all time wasters trying to use BR to see which games I've gone to over the years.

That would be the most Angels thing ever.

Ohtani goes down for 6 weeks with an oblique and can't be traded but he also can't play so they have no shot at the playoffs and because he's not playing no one is coming to the games so they're losing out on gate money they were banking on by not trading him.
