So the injury talley is:
Framber
Garcia
Urquidy
Lance
Altuve
Yordan
Brantley
Possibly Abreu and Peña.
That's spectacular.
4th best Bullpen ERA in all of MLB. Hope that helps.kb2001 said:
The complaints should be directed towards the bullpen.
Our best bullpen guys last season are not pitching well.
Despite injuries, starting pitching has been serviceable, it's the bullpen that's bad

They are bad because they are having to cover so many innings.
Last season, between JV, Framber, and LMJ, those guys consistently went 6 innings or more with CJ contributing to that stat toward the end of the year.
This year JV is gone, LMJ out, and CJ has something clearly wrong. Hunter started off strong, but has hit some rookie snags.
The Astros currently have one guy that can reliably get them 6 innings this year.
SP that can do deep wins a lot of games. 'Stros don't have that right now.

Add a bullpen arm or two and a starter. Get Yordan and Altuve back. Maybe another bat. This team will look different in a hurry. Let's all just take a breath.

So much drama.
The real problem is the Astros only have one starter that can consistently go 6!
It hasn't helped since June 1st. Maton has been great. Despite Pressly's recent streak of 12 hitless innings, he's been bad. Neris has underperformed consistently the last 6 weeks (tonight being the exception). Stanek is a disaster. Abreu was dominant the second half of last season, he's meh this year.Aggie8587 said:4th best Bullpen ERA in all of MLB. Hope that helps.kb2001 said:

Yep, good coaching typically leaves a mark that sticks around for a year or two after the coach leaves. We're seeing the impact nowFarmer1906 said:
We had a historically good pitching staff last year and has the #1 ERA thru the first few months of the season. I don't think losing Strom has any major impact on what is going on now.

I get the usual complaints about Maldy, and the PB was inexcusable, but he was 2 for 5 tonight with a run and 2 RBIs to retake the lead. Stanek came in with bases empty needing 2 outs to get out of the inning, and he couldn't do it, letting 3 on. Abreu gives up a 3-run HR in 2 pitches before getting an out. Pressly gave up 4 straight hits including a HR in the 9th, losing a 3 run lead. The complaints should be directed towards the bullpen.
We can ***** about Dusty also, but what other weapons do we have in the bullpen? Our best bullpen guys last season are not pitching well.
Face it, we all knew when Brent Strom left after the 2021 season that our pitching might take a step back. It has, it's starting to show, and it's been a major problem this season. Despite injuries, starting pitching has been serviceable, it's the bullpen that's bad
I don't care for Dusty but he had only 89 pitches going into that inning. We also got nothing from our SP the day before and who knows what you will get out of Javier tomorrow. Trying to get another inning out of him was the right call.tjack16 said:

it is hard to believe that Chas only has 182 at-bats on the season
just the 11th highest total on the team
in 182 AB's...he's produced 29 runs scored, 26 RBI, and 20 x-base hits...from the bottom half of the order

Nahh, he just sucks. Hack that needs to be cut and we need to trade for a closer. And another extra closer. And 2 starting pitchers and maybe another stud bat. Also send Pena back to AAA and trade Blackhole Bregman for a bucket of bubble gum
