The biggest what if in Astros history is what if JR didn't have a stroke. Hands down. He was a sure fire hall of Famer. It altered the course of the franchise for 15 years.

My guess on the trade front is we end up with someone from the NL central. - Jordan Montgomery from the cardinals or Kyle Hendricks from the cubs. Honestly I could see flaherty or smly as targets as well even though both have been a mess this year.
The Astros have to make multiple moves and they all don't need to be splashes. We need a backend of the rotation guy or two that can simply eat innings and not give up a 7 spot doing so.

IMO the bigger what if is just if Greinke didn't come out for the 7th at all and Cole started the inning.
Greinke 6 shutout, Cole gets the 7-8th, Osuna to close it out

- what if Altuve had just gone home from the tryout like they told him to
- what if Aiken had signed in 2014, and we didn't have the draft pick to get Bregman
- what if the Dodgers realized what they had in Yordan
- what if last year's lock out ended up canceling the 2022 season like some thought it would
It's easy to find what ifs that did not go away, but we have had a few that really did go our way
- what if Altuve had just gone home from the tryout like they told him to
- what if Aiken had signed in 2014, and we didn't have the draft pick to get Bregman
- what if the Dodgers realized what they had in Yordan

One other thing on Jeron Williams, he hit one of his HRs off Joe Whitman, who went 69th overall to the Giants. Only one game but good to see he can do it against an elite pitching prospect.

Yes, but just because of the rest of the division sucked. We end up finishing 21 games ahead of LAA.
