I know it goes without saying, but I am really glad Baggy isn't our GM.
I'm nit suggesting the team disown MB, but it's not doing him or the team any good to pretend like he's coming back and have these questions get asked every day.

Having him around in the dugout and clubhouse isn't the issue. It's the constant "no news today" or "he's shut down again" trope.
I guess that's just the price of him being around and the club's policy on injuries. They can't or won't be up front so everyone has to pick at the scab every couple of days.

Unfortunately most of the catcher ERA is too small sample size with Yainer to be very predictive, I'd just like to make it a larger sample by actually playing him at catcher

Unfortunately I think this is the reason that Dusty is afraid to play Yainer more behind the plate. I think Dusty is afraid of Yainer developing a larger sample size to prove Dusty's managing decisions were wrong.

For Hunter Brown specifically, I think he was gonna hit a wall midseason either way. Teams are adjusting plus the innings are piling up. I'd prefer Yainer but don't put too much stock in this stat right now.
