Holy cow..after my comment about Diaz being first Catcher with 20 homers since..I don't think a single Astros catcher has ever had 20, unless you count Gattis, but he wasn't the everyday catcher

Speaking of catchers calling games...Anyone see this about Wilson Contreras?

Apparently he was benched earlier this year and this is why.

Great question.

2016 Gattis hit 32, but he only played 445.1 innings at C (55 games, 52 starts)
1975 Cliff Johnson hit 20, but again he only played 333.2 at C (41 games, 37 starts)

But that is it. The closest full time catcher was Castro.

2013 Castro hit 18 and played 827.1 at C (98 games, 95 starts)


But then again Yainer isn't close to full time.

I believe Julks has the weakest and least accurate of all of our OF options
I can't tell you about accuracy but baseball savant shows arm strength metrics.

No clue how to look that's data up and don't really care to. But Julks is noticeably our weakest defensive OF option in every category by the eye test

Maybe it was more an issue with him using the pitch com than calling pitches that players don't have. If this is what it looks like, it seems there could have been a much better way to set it up.

that list of pitches you can call is just plain weird. Or maybe I don't' know how to use that machine.

Where the curve low and away? Fastball inside? Fastball outside, etc etc etc.

I have never used one but I assume you call pitch and then location.
