Been discussed a bunch and the consensus is that these are professionals who at the end of the day want to win.
It wouldn't be a problem.
It wouldn't be a problem.
I've said this before and I'll say it 100 times if I need to. It will not be a problem in the clubhouse.txags11 said:
I don't want anything to do with Bellinger. I don't worry as much about on the field with him as I do in the clubhouse. After 2017 and his comments how are our guys gonna want him in the clubhouse
I'm against it because his stats do not show that he'd be a worthwhile addition. Other than being a left-hander, how is he any different than Julks offensively?Deluxe said:
If anything, I think adding Bellinger could be a positive for national optics. He'd inevitably be asked about 2017 and would have to declare that it was in the past and it's time to move on. Not that I care much about national optics but it's something to consider.
If they were to hypothetically get him, he could play any outfield position, first base, and also DH. He would rotate around and keep guys fresh.MAROON said:
so with Bellinger. Who is he replacing in this line-up? Jake? Chas? Julks?
Ideally he would start vs RHP, but I don't know if we'd pencil him in CF, 1B or DH...maybe LF? If CF then Chas could still play in LF, but things will get a little tight once Yordan gets back in there.MAROON said:

And you didn't even list Dubon. If he keeps playing the way he is/has, you have to include him in the mix.redline248 said:Ideally he would start vs RHP, but I don't know if we'd pencil him in CF, 1B or DH...maybe LF? Potential?
Altuve 2B
Bregman 3B
Yordan LF/DH
Abreu 1B
Tucker RF
Diaz C
Bellenger CF/DH
Pena SS
Chas LF/CF
Damnit man... now he's going to throw 7 shutty vs this lineupW said:
Rockies starting Chase Anderson and his 6.50 ERA today
he's bad

Bellinger doesn't make sense because he isn't the righty killer we need. Would love to get a guy like Fraley who crushes righties.

What an albatross of a contract Kris Bryant is now. Used to be one of my favorite players but man...... dudes fallen off

Simple question for the board... what does Bellinger add to the team?

- Another option at Frist
- Plus Outfield Defense
- But mainly a bat to crush RHP
Now does he actually bring that last one? He's a career 121 wRC+ vs RHP. Not showing it in 2023 though.

That's a shame considering I'm sure you'll be wearing your Maldy jersey
FWIW- this is a very real possibilityAg_07 said:
The only way to efficiently upgrade is if it's a full time bat in a deal that includes ML guys.
The offense is working now. TED, Chas, Abreu, & Julks have been tearing the ball off the cover lately. But that won't continue. We're down Altuve again and Yordan.Ag_07 said:
IMO the offense isn't an issue now that Abreu has come around, Dubon has proven to not be flash in the pan, Diaz has flashed, and add in Yordan when he gets back.
The only way to efficiently upgrade is if it's a full time bat in a deal that includes ML guys. A platoon bat like Bellinger just isn't worth it. We have capable guys who can platoon that are cheap and won't cost prospects.
Either go for the big bat that inserts directly into the lineup full time or roll with what we got offensively and bulk up the starting rotation and BP.
What is an "ML guy"?texasaggie2015 said:FWIW- this is a very real possibilityAg_07 said:

I have not actually.Ag_07 said:
You ever hear anything further on the inquiry about Robert?
I think it has more to do with Yoshida's defense. If you can handle a large RF with weird angles at Fenway then you can handle LF at MMP.redline248 said:
I was just looking at Verdugo. I know he has played LF in the past, but he hasn't done it once this year. I don't know what affect that would have on him, if any.
