He's been terrible in AAA this year and not great in the big last season. He's a semi-high spin guy. He fits the M.O. of fastball that doesn't drop as much as everyone else. Throws a decent cutter & sweeper too. Seems like a longshot.

I think so. That would be the only reason they'd do it with Brantley since it sounds like he's on his way back. I think the retroactive time restrictions for the IL only apply to the 10-day version.

Urquidy last pitched 4/30 so now he can't come back until 6/30. But that's no big deal.

Brantley, well whatever.

If either of them are coming back this year these moves are temporary. Once they come back (if they come back) something will have to give.

I honestly would rather Abreu and Dubon play 1st/DH, bat Abreu 9th and put Diaz at catcher. Maldy needs to see the bench.

As much as I would love for this to happen, there is no way they're going to sit Abreu with his contract unless it is being forced on Dusty. Maybe it is but this seems to me more like a extend rest off to let him regroup and not "sit yo ass down, scrub"

He has also been used exclusively as a starter. His best innings as a starter were the second and third inning thrown. He was garbage in the 4th onward. Perhaps they think they can reinvent him as a reliever? He also sucked in the first but that's typically a starter's worst inning because they can't go all out warming up knowing they have to go 5 or 6 innings.

Cracked open a fresh bottle of BT. Gunna pour one out for TP then watch the Astros beat down LA again. Its too bad LMJ isn't healthy enough to go. He's always good vs them and shoved right after the "scandal".
