You think there's something to this- in the larger context- in the clubhouse? The lineup decisions, the days off, the players who get bats no matter what? They are professionals but it has to affect them if they know the team is handicapped because of the decisions made each day.

At this point I don't think we can even do enough at the trade deadline to make enough difference to win a WS. I was hoping that adding a few pieces would do it. But now I'm hoping Dana doesn't sell the farm trying to do it and **** up the next decade doing so,

Look at the pieces missing:

Yordan, Brantley, LMJ, Luis, Urquidy. Altuve for two months.

Then, you have Bregman, Abreu, Peña and Pressly struggling at different times. Now, everyone is pressing.

It's a recipe for disaster.

To think he's been such a big problem these past 3 years yet we've been winning a ton but now all of the sudden at age 74 he becomes too big of a problem to overcome. That's pretty lazy thinking and also gives not just him but any manager way too much credit or blame.

1. Dusty
2. A lineup they routinely has a combination of McCormick, Myers, Julks, Maldonado and other assorted scrubs in it.
3. Letting Verlander go and thinking Brown could take his place.
4. Vets underperforming
5. Injuries

Yuli too. You don't let guys like Springer, Correa, Verlander walk and not have it catch up with you eventually. Last year was pretty incredible all things considered.

Letting players walk is not the problem.

Have any of those players has as much success as they had when here?

Astros have actually been pretty good about when to not pay guys out the ass and let them walk.

We've won a lot games and has a lot of success since Springer, Correa, and those guys left.
