It better be an exceptional bottle of bourbon if anyone expects me to head to MMP for that...
Define... "exceptional." We need to know where the bar is. And when I say "bar," I mean level -- not the place they serve alcohol.
Here is my bar- does it pair well with watching the Aggies or Astros?
So -- all?
I like talking with fellow bourbon drinkers because I'm always looking for something new.
Some of my recent favorites include First Call Double Oak (it's like a Woodford Double Oak but about $20 cheaper), Still Austin Cask Strength and Bib & Tucker 6 year. I like the vanilla, caramel and oak flavors -- with some tobacco.
That Elijah Craig one you got was nice.
I know they were just blending at first, but I liked the Widow Jane I bought last year. I have enjoyed the Elijah Craig very much! Tullamore Dew put out a special reserve that was delicious several years ago (but pricey). I also like Four Roses, Knob Creek, and an occasional Woodford Reserve if that's what is available.
I agree on the vanilla, oak, and caramel. A bit of fruitiness is ok. I like a good cigar on occasion, but not in my glass.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
