It doesn't say the number of innings pitched... that's a 4.2 inning outing for JV in the DS

Abreu also had a couple of balls that were sharply hit within a few feet from him that he should have fielded, or at least knocked down if he tried to get in front of the ball rather than sliding a couple of feet and whiffing with the glove.

His ABs look much better though. Probably not replacement level, but trending the right way given he can't be benched.

This is part of what makes the Astros run over the past several years impressive. No fall offs after winning the AL, or appearing in the WS, or winning the WS. Add in being the hunted by teams, media, and fans due to being singled out for the sign stealing stuff...it's been impressive.

And the Astros are doing it again this year.

Spending doesn't matter if it's spent idiotically. That Yu Darvish contract looks bad and will only age worse. Bunch of their bats underperforming as well. The "good" news is Machado might not opt out after this disaster.

I'd add they could be an interesting trade partner. Musgrove having a tough year but wouldn't mind having him back. Given his contract it shouldn't cost a lot of prospect capital to acquire him.

Does he have any opt outs? Even if he was having an MVP season, I don't think he would opt out if he could. He's already getting paid ridiculously.

If you stop at Truth in Brenham, you can drink free beer while you wait in line and the BBQ is damn good.

Roegels near Voss/10 is good. Truth near downtown is good. Pinkertons is right off 45 just north of downtown too. I haven't been there in 3-4 years but it was good and heard it still is.

Everywhere else I can think of is east of there (Corkscrew, Killens - woodlands, Tejas) or is not very good.

And Truth on Washington and Heights is generally considered excellent.

Pinkertons is good, but I haven't been in over a year. Pork ribs were great the last time I was there.

Either Truth is hard to beat from an all around perspective. I was at the one off Washington earlier this week and usually go there about once or twice a month with clients.

Building around young cheap players rather than mega-contract players definitely helped the Astros sustain for a while. It's hard to stay disciplined to that approach.
