Wife surprised me with Astros tickets for my birthday since we are in town. Any recommendations on show-up times, food, etc? I haven't been in years.

Pregame hangout is in EaDo. Ninfa's and shuttle is a good option, but so is free street parking a couple streets off of Emancipation and walking the bars from True Anomaly to Woodrow's and then across to MMP.
We usually do Neil's and Woodrow's pregame and Truckyard postgame. Outside of 8th Wonder you will find some of the best street hot dogs you'll ever try … that's where Yo-Yo's posts up now.
The Astros against Sonny Gray: Altuve 4, Peña 6, Alvarez DH, Bregman 5, Tucker 9, Abreu 3, Meyers 8, Dubón 7, Maldonado 2

Another opion is if you like Tex Mex head to El Tiempo or Ninfa's on Navigation. They usually have a shuttle that drops you off and picks you back up at MMP. Would need to confirm that, though.

There's also 8th wonder and a bunch of places over by BBVA
The lineup is doomed today, but I kind of like it.linkdude said:The Astros against Sonny Gray: Altuve 4, Peña 6, Alvarez DH, Bregman 5, Tucker 9, Abreu 3, Meyers 8, Dubón 7, Maldonado 2

Cobo's on the corner of Rusk and 59 is a good gameday spot. He usually has drink specials and the brisket/boudin/mac &cheese quesadillas are amazing. The Birria tacos also. And he'll package up to go food in the see thru bags per Minute Maid regulations.
Lance McCullers Jr. is no longer throwing off a mound, Dusty Baker said.

“We have to take it slow with Lance until we know that he’s 100 percent. That’s where it is right now,” Baker said.

It's a good thing Abreu is a power hitter again, because I worry the 3 headed beast of $48,000,000 a season for this year and the next two years for Abreu, McCullers and Montero is going to completely shut our window
JV's $66 million for 6 innings didn't shut our window and neither will those.
