Another thing top consider is they've doing it for a 2 month window. Can they keep it up over 6 without regressing?

Semien, Grossman, Taveras, & Jankowski are all over performing their expected stats by a fair amount. Only Garcia is underperforming. Similarly on the pitching side Dunning, Gray, Perez, and kind of Eovaldi are beating their expected stats (Dunning & Gray by a ridiculous margin) while Ragans & deGrom are underperforming their metrics.

If you ignore expected stats and just look at the individual season vs that player's normal season, several guys are having career years. Semien is 32 and he's having a top 3 season off his career. Then you look at the role players who are making the lineup deep. Jung (2nd year), Heim, Taveras, Jankowski, & Duran (2nd year) are all playing out of their mind compared to the rest of their careers (some shorter than others). What are the odds that continues for a season?

Even if they take a step back, they're still very likely a playoff quality team. As long as we continue as we are (97 win pace) I think we'll win the division by 4+ games.

Wife surprised me with Astros tickets for my birthday since we are in town. Any recommendations on show-up times, food, etc? I haven't been in years.

Pay for parking, it makes the game that much more fun. Spend the $50 to park right by the stadium. The food is pretty standard ballpark fare. You might be able to buy a pass to the Gallagher club which is very plush and has a buffet, but I think it is expensive. I always get there an hour before the game

Get there at least an hour early to walk the main concourse and check out the new additions like murals and stuff. There's a pluckers, shake shack, and el tiempo. Or regular ballpark food if you want traditional. Saint Arnold's and Karbach everywhere. Give yourself some time to check out the team store. Secure the W!

Not much around the stadium before the game, but if you're in downtown already there are some places to hang out before the gates open (Biggio's, Vic and Anthony's bar, Westin bar). Pickings are a bit slim but these usually have a nice group of fans pregaming.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Another opion is if you like Tex Mex head to El Tiempo or Ninfa's on Navigation. They usually have a shuttle that drops you off and picks you back up at MMP. Would need to confirm that, though.

Pregame hangout is in EaDo. Ninfa's and shuttle is a good option, but so is free street parking a couple streets off of Emancipation and walking the bars from True Anomaly to Woodrow's and then across to MMP.

We usually do Neil's and Woodrow's pregame and Truckyard postgame. Outside of 8th Wonder you will find some of the best street hot dogs you'll ever try … that's where Yo-Yo's posts up now.

If you're coming from the central Downtown side, all the places you want to hang out are on Main. You can find some eats there as well.

There's lots of places downtown within walking distance to have food and drinks prior the game.

Biggio's
V&As
Osso and Kristalla
Moonshiners, Flying Saucer, Bovine and Barely or any of the other bars on Main St.
There's also 8th wonder and a bunch of places over by BBVA

And as for the Rangers keep an eye on Eovaldi.

He's performed well so far but man he's putting a lot of mileage that arm for a pitcher who hasn't really been known as an ironman.

I'd be worried about his workload and wear and tear later in the season.

I never park on that side of 59 but you are correct. This may be the best area before the game that is somewhat close to the stadium.

Cobo's on the corner of Rusk and 59 is a good gameday spot. He usually has drink specials and the brisket/boudin/mac &cheese quesadillas are amazing. The Birria tacos also. And he'll package up to go food in the see thru bags per Minute Maid regulations.

After yesterday and this update today I'm going with we see more Abreu HRs than LMJ starts this season.

This is why I have been saying France and Bielak are not enough. It would not shock me if Lance is done until '25. I see "giving it time" and then admitting this winter that he needs yet another surgery. It's happened before.

It's a good thing Abreu is a power hitter again, because I worry the 3 headed beast of $48,000,000 a season for this year and the next two years for Abreu, McCullers and Montero is going to completely shut our window

JV's $66 million for 6 innings didn't shut our window and neither will those.
