It's been subtle, but the Mariners and Angels have had a tough couple weeks.
It seems like yesterday they were both ahead of us and battling us on that road series for us. Then they blinked and we're down 5 to 6 games, and realizing we still own this division.

I've said it before but the extra month or more of games six seasons straight takes it toll and it takes these guys a month or more to get going.
Teams like the Rangers get an entire extra month to rest and come out of the gate fresh and ready to go.

Actually they only played 13 extra games since they won with relative ease last year.
After last night's game Maldy is 295/380/477 for the month of May. Not bad, guy
