Julks was a nice story when he came up, but he's not been great.

He's only above Hensely in xwOBA.

He's got a .482 OPS over the last 15 games (55 PA).

This is the guy Dusty had above Yainer in the pecking order.

Right now Hensley and Diaz back up first. If Salazar goes down Diaz won't be back up 1B. Hensley will fill that role. He might still fill that role until Dusty "trusts" Diaz at first. So far he's gotten a single start. Hensley might hang around until Brantley comes in and can play first apparently.

There is who it looks on paper and how Dusty does things. Sometimes it's not logical.

2. Tucker - RF
3. Bregman - 3B
4. Alvarez - DH
5. Pena - SS
6. Dubon - LF
7. Abreu - 1B
8. McCormick/Meyers - CF
9. Maldonado/Diaz - C

That's what I would do for the everyday lineup.

You could also rotate the DH / 2B / LF position if Altuve needs to DH a game or 2 to ease back

It's tough, because I really want Diaz' bat in the lineup. I think the more time he plays, the better his bat will get.

I love Dubon's contact ability though. I need Yordan batting in the first inning every game. My everyday line-up, which is also the post season line up looks like this:

When Maldy is catching:
1. Altuve - 2B
2. Bregman - 3B
3. Alvarez - LF
4. Tucker - RF
5. Pena - SS
6. Abreu - 1B
7. Diaz - DH
8. McCormick/Meyers - CF
9. Maldonado - C

When Diaz is catching:
1. Altuve - 2B
2. Bregman - 3B
3. Alvarez - DH
4. Tucker - RF
5. Pena - SS
6. Abreu - 1B
7. Diaz - C
8. McCormick/Meyers - CF
9. Dubon - LF (I am ok with this being either McCormick/Meyers too)

Dubon is still obviously going to get a ton of starts being the infield utility guy. I don't think he needs to be outfield unless Diaz is catching, which gives us the chance to DH Yordan.

Because until he falls off he deserves normal playing time, not every day but majority, but like others would take days off so would he. I do not see him sustaining this all year so as he drops his PT would also drop if Chas/Jake warrant more time.

And Hensley at least plays multiple positions on defense to help in a pinch.

I like him but I'm betting Julks goes back to Sugar Land.

Would love to see Tuck at 2 but Dusty is determined to play by 1980s logic and put him around 5th if he has his druthers. Yordan needs to bat in the first inning, so I wouldn't drop him below 3. And with Bregman's walk rate, I think he's fine at 2. So ideally we'd land on

Abreu
Non-Yordan LF/DH of the day
CF of the day
C of the day

A man can dream, anyway.

The problem right now is I want majority time for Tuve, Dubon, McCormick and Meyers - who all warrant it.

And they don't play the positions of the guys I would like to trim PT for (Abreu and Maldy)

Would love to see Tuck second in the lineup. Unfortunately, Dusty.

That's already happened. On the season Jake & Dubon are pretty even. Over the last month Jake has been better. Ever since the swing change.

It has decreased yes but he is still a leading hitter on this team.. that obviously wont continue especially as Bregman wakes up and Altuve back...but i don't believe he deserves to be a twice a week player immediately.

But I am not in the camp of make him the new starting CF. He is not better than the other 2 defensively and lacks the power they have at the plate.
