You know 1 player doesn't make or break your roster. One of the edges we had had thru most of our playoff runs is starting pitching depth. We have run out Keuchel, Verlander, Morton, Cole, Greinke, McCullers, Javier, Framber, etc. If we replace LMJ with Urquidy, are we ****ed? Probably not. Do we go from a major edge in game 3/4 vs a disadvantage in game 3/4? Absolutely.

Am I reading this correctly that he supposedly didn't call any pitches as strikes that were actually outside the strike zone and his only mistakes were calling actual strikes as balls? If that is the case then something is off with the scorecard. He clearly called a pitch that was well out of the zone on Yordon as a strike.

The EUZ (estimated umpire zone) is based on the individual umpire, it is used to measure how consistent his established zone is (e.g. is he calling ALL pitches an inch off the plate strikes or only some of them). The information at the bottom is based on the true strike zone. He called 7 true balls as strikes and 3 true strikes as balls, so 10 misses on the day relative to a true strike zone out of 133 called pitches.

He did the same thing with Chas on a 3-0 count...of course that worked out well for us. I wonder if this scorecard takes that into account lol.

I remember that too...I was in shock and I want to say it was in a game we either won easily or lost because it didn't really matter that we were gifted a run but I stopped counting a long time ago the missed calls that could have turned the game in our favor.

It's what prompted me to post the umpire scorecard in the rangerette thread...I couldn't believe they had the audacity to complain about the umps when they're likely getting a full run (maybe more) than we do each game from crappy calls.

My count may be off, but the ump scorecard has been in our favor what looks like 17 times.

We clock in at No. 28 (-7.99 runs). Oakland (-10.01 runs) and Washington (gulp, -13.15 runs) are Nos. 29 and 30 respectively.

Atlanta and the Mets have been the beneficiaries of the most calls at No. 1 (+9.31 runs) and No. 2 (+7.18 runs).

So it's both not as bad (we've been favored in more than a handful of games), and just as bad (No. 28) as you'd think.
