JV gave up 6 runs in 5 innings tonight with 2 HRs and just 3Ks against the Rays... he's off to a very rough start

Keep Altuve in Corpus / Sugar Land until he starts hitting. Dubon is getting it done for the club.

Can Dubon play 1B??
Think he ever gets called up? Would really like to see what he can do in the show.Microwave Onions said:

And a question for the Cubs' manager....W said:

why in the world are you pitching to Judge in the 8th inning of a tie game...when Harrison Bader is the guy hitting behind him?
gotta use the IBB there

I absolutely hate the clocks, i'm probably okay with the maximum of 3 pick-off attempts per batter; I like the "has to pitch to 3 batters" rule, but you can't argue the pitchers are giving more runs and the games are shorter; both goals of Manfred.Lonestar_Ag09 said:
I'm personally a fan of the overall game speed. I'd just like a slightly longer clock and remove the batter being attentive to the pitcher.

Astros GM Dana Brown on Brantley setback: "It hurts. He means so much to our clubhouse. Hopefully he can start swinging a bat in a week, he was so close. At the end of the day, it's a gut punch but we think he'll be back." @SportsTalk790 @SeanUnfiltered @moneyonthemic7

I still want to see an actual relevant accuracy metric. Not just a percentage of taken pitches but a percentage of borderline taken pitches.Wabs said:

How do you remove the batter being attentive? The pitcher could just quick pitch as soon as they step in box if they don't have to wait for batter to be attentive. On the reverse, if they do have to wait for the batter to be attentive and there is no clock on batter then the batter could just look at the dirt until there is 1 second on clock and then the pitcher has no time to pitch.Lonestar_Ag09 said:

dusty baker lineups have traumatized me too long,, based on the 6/11 and a hr, i'm fully expecting abreu to have an off day todayk20dub said:
Alright, Abreu is 6/11 including a HR in his career against Smyly. Today is the day, folks.
He's not going to homer once tonight, but twice...
I'm not targeting anyone for some time. If Abreu wakes up.. honestly probably nothing major but maybe try and move some youth off the 40man.Wabs said:
As of today, what is everyone's thoughts on what we need to target at (or before) the trade deadline (if anything). Here's mine:
1. Starting pitcher: doesn't need to be a "big splash", but a veteran preferably with some post season experience. This guy could also be used in long relief if necessary.
2. RH hitter with power - either a corner infielder or outfielder
Lol based on those stats, tonight will be the rare night that Dusty benches himk20dub said:
