As for Spolane's tweet, Dana Brown wasn't hired to be a yes-man, and any influence that Bagwell, Jackson, or Dusty have will not inhibit the GM from doing his job. Even if the Abreu and Montero deals never end up working out well, they aren't backbreakers. Brown wants a blended approach with analytics and the traditional style so everyone else should be onboard with that. If not they probably won't be around for very much longer.

Agreed they aren't backbreakers long-term, but they are opportunities lost for this year. Hopefully Dana keeps a long-term view and doesn't do something rash to unscrew up that mess.
the problem with the montero deal was that it is 3 years. anyone would have loved a 1 year deal.
they need to put him in low leverage situtations for a while, gain back confidence. he can still pitch. while he's given up some very hard hits, he's also been very unlucky when you look at that stats

I like this lineup. Obviously no Hensley when Peña is playing. Needs to be more of an everyday lineup.
