This season is the worst the Astros have been for an extended stretch since 2020 (one of the season where we only made the ALCS). Yet we're only 3.5 out of first. Gotta love a weak division you can sleep walk in.

Tonight was one of those nights to remind us what this team is capable of.

We just haven't been consistent in any phase yet this year. But we are capable of being a top 10 offense, we are capable of being a top 5 starting rotation, and we are capable of being the best pen in baseball.

Just have to put it all together (again)

Mauricio Dubón said his injury is nothing serious and he won't got in the IL. He said it just grabbed him a bit and he didn't want to not be able to play 100 percent at 2B with Valdez on the mound.

While getting uncle Mike back improves the team, frankly it's pretty far down the list.

1. Get Jose back. You gain slug and OBA immediately. But to be fair you lose a little defense. Dubon has a plus arm.

2. Do something about Abreu. Either fix him or start giving him days off. He's a boat anchor in the middle of the lineup. I'm sorry but long term winning with playing a 1B with an OPS of. .560 batting cleanup aren't compatible.

3. Give Diaz 2 of 5 starts each round behind the plate and 2 of the other 3 at DH.

4. Keep your fingers crossed summer Breggy shows up.

5. Uncle Mike. But you have Jake playing well in CF and Chas and Yordan can split PT in LF with Chas also spelling Jake and Tuck.

Getting Mike back satisfies this since he can play 1B here and there to give him days off.

But yes I agree...Abreu at the very least needs to get the F out of the 4 spot. Why anyone isn't just giving Yordan a free pass is beyond me.

Plus I think just getting Mike back brings some consistency to the lineup. No I don;t expect to knock the cover off the ball and put the offense on his back as he rakes but he'll provide quality ABs, timely base knocks, and a bit of consistency.
