I don't think Hunter has to do any pitching adjustments to it all. He's still trying to pitch to the holes in guys' swings. If there are any adjustments, it's all mental.

I get what you're saying, but if you're used to pitching straight up and getting an out, and now it's a groundball through...you have to adjust, don't you?

And they had universal DH in the shortened 2020 year too.

I don't think so. The holes are in the hitter's swing, shift or not. The goal of pitching is to find the hitter's hole in their swing, exploit it, and create weak contact through movement and location.

Hunter got weak contact on everything but Rendon's single up the middle. I don't know what adjustments Hunter could make that would allow him to do any better that inning.

That double play really helped out. Erasing the threat AND keeping pitch count manageable. Though, to my untrained eyes, I would say the effort to get out of the previous inning took its toll on Hunter and he may not have much left.

Agree on both accounts. Ward just about snow coned that ball. Don't know why Yordan thought he could challenge Renfroe on that play. Renfroe has a canon.
