With the amount of time that no word has come out, I am thinking it is a bigger deal than they want everyone to know. Hopefully they don't screw around like they did with JV and waste almost a season on trying to rehab him.Ag_07 said:

The biggest and first "test" for Dana may come in the form of two things before the trade deadline: one, finding some right handed power for the lineup, and two finding (trading for) a starting pitcher. You can NEVER have enough starting pitching. And in our situation now, I don't see us achieving our goal unless we add another SP.

Is he a starter? What's his stuff look like?
He's been both a relief pitcher and a starter when I've seen him. Won a player of the month last summer and just won player of the week about two weeks ago.
He doesn't have the pop that Hunter Brown had, but has 26 Ks/11 BBs in 19 innings pitched this year. More of a finesse pitcher than a power pitcher (he's not going to blow the ball by hitters).
Good for long relief if needed as well. Played at Tulane and then transferred to Mississippi State his SR year and made a CWS run

Does anyone listen to the Salsbury radio show in the mornings?
I had to drive across town all week in the morning and needed something to listen to so I tuned it. Surprisingly very little Texans talk which was great. Good baseball takes and discussions. Keep in mind most of his relief appearances are piggyback starts. They've kept him around a 60-pitch limit either way this year. But at the end of last year, he was more of a true reliever. I don't know if they were experimenting or just wanting to keep his innings under a specific # (end up at 110.2), but he was really effective in shorter outings.
Heavy cutter usage. His velo has ticked up a little this season, but his sits low 90s. Throws a slider too and occasionally a change up. Lots of Ks.
One thing I noticed is his groundball rate skyrocketed this year. I wonder if he's changed something up.
