I could see if they were both arriving at the same time but that was clearly Smyly's play.

It's Dusty. It might be due to star alignment, the Dominican Republic being closer to Atlanta than Puerto Rico, and maybe he just likes to play young guys on Friday night.

Listening to Dana on "The Show: A NY Post" Podcast (barf).

A few takeaways.
  • No extension talks with anyone right now (during the season).
  • Not worried about Abreu. He is still passing the eye test.
  • Complemented the Astros six man rotation and thinks pitching depth is a good problem to have. (reading between the lines we may see the 6 man rotation back with LMJ is back)
  • Very pro analytics mixing with scouting and makeup. Analytics isn't going anywhere. Making good decisions by using them all.
  • Dana thinks Dusty will use analytics when it matches his gut... but how does that mean he's using them?
  • Isn't worried about outside influence on Crane. Brown talks to Bagwell almost every day and guys like Biggio, Cabell, & Reggie too. Takes a group to make decisions.
