I think one of the reasons we've started off poorly is Altuve and Brantley. No, I'm not talking about their bats, but their leadership, it's sorely lacking right now. I'd also throw LMJ into the mix so along with Bregman we're missing 3 of our 4 most vocal leaders.
Also, it's not something you can replace in the aggregate by jostling the lineup or any platitudes Dusty wants to serve up....nope, until we get them back it's going to be tough sledding.

Yeah Verlander, Correa, Straw, Springer, Cole, Morton, Marwin, Keuchel. All our leaders are gone.

And Yuli play where, 2nd base? There's a reason no one in the whole MLB signed him and he signed half way through spring training with the Marlins which he still isn't starting for.
Altuve and Brantleys bats are also missed.
just a quick note...Bregman had a .791 OPS last April with 4 HR's and 3 doubles (in 73 at-bats)

The other team scored 7 runs without getting a hit. Seems like there would be more errors than just 1. I assume there were a lot of walks.

I guess the comparison you're making with some of these guys is that they were Astros during our WS runs? Beyond that what do any of them have in common with Yuli? Didn't sign JV because he was asking too much. Same with Cole, Correa and Springer. Straw isn't even remotely in Yuli's hemisphere when it comes to contribution to the Astros success. Weird comparison.Keuchrl and Morton were looking for more than a one year deal. I suppose you could make a loose case for Marwin? Did we offer him a contract when he was a FA? I think people are vastly underrating what Yuli meant to the clubhouse, and that is what I was responding to (vocal leaders, proven success, etc). Guess we'll just agree to disagree.

My point was that everyone of the guys I listed, people made those same claims. Even Straw. We keep moving on. We've built a winning, hard working culture. Guys like Yordan, Tucker, Garcia, Framber, Pressly, Javier have taken the baton.

Outfield - Brantley and Siri for Julks and Meyers
Infield - Altuve, Aledmys, and Yuli for Hensley, Dubon, Abreu
Catchers - Castro for Salazar and Diaz
SP - Verlander and Odo for Brown
It is a lot of experience and leadership (about 75 years of combined experience) for a bunch of rookies. Not to mention Dusty is big on using everyone so we have had 89 at bats from Diaz, Dubon, Hensley, Julks, Salazar, and Meyers.
Just seems like by summer we will have Altuve, Brantley, LMJ, and maybe Dirden replacing our 3 or 4 bottom performers.
Broke down and got the show again this year. Couple of complaints.
1. They removed the name trash pandas in dd play.
2 . Do they even still do diamond cars in packs? I have barely seen a gold much less diamond

The point is that it wouldn't have cost nearly as much (not even remotely close) to keep Yuli than those other guys. It was clear he was beloved in the clubhouse, not to mention to the fans. We wouldn't have had to "overpay" him. He would have been a cheap keep, and to me he's a proven clutch player - which is hard to find. He very likely would have accepted a diminished on field playing role with the signing of Abreu. But the Astros just offer him nothing?? Clubhouse atmosphere matters in baseball. It's not all just about numbers and analytics. Once again, we're not going to agree on this. Is what is at this point.
Not sure on the whole team, still playing around with it all.

2. Yes, but the packs do seem tighter. I've gotten a handful.
Satchel is in my DD rotation. I'm not sure if they are available for play CPU as a full team. WBC players can also be used. Kendoh is still in my starting lineup.Lonestar_Ag09 said:

Not really. The Negro leagues storylines are a new mode where it focuses on like 8 different players and you play different moments from their career. At the end it rewards you with a card for that player to play in Diamond Dynasty. You do get to learn a lot about them which is interesting.
The WBC tie in is mostly just player cards for DD as well. Though there is a program for it that also has moments you can play from the WBC.
I haven't decided if we're getting this years. We usually skip every other season, those aspects were something I was hoping for and was willing to pay for.
We as in my 9yr old and I. We don't do DD so not much interest in that aspect, just local play because he isn't allowed online.

The Negro League stuff and videos are absolutely great. If your kiddo loves ball, it is a great piece of history to learn.
