Biggest misses in the offseason are hurting us. Didn't add a centerfielder (or even an outfielder) and didn't sign Vazquez to a reasonable deal that he would have taken.
It's almost like firing the GM, not hiring a new one until February, and letting Jeff Bagwell make all the free agency decisions was a bad idea...whodathunkit

Bagwell goes to the Brad Ausmus school of catching. As long as you are perceived to be good defensively it doesn't matter what you do offensively. No matter the pressure that puts on the 8 other guys, they love knowing once we get to the 9 hole it's time to turn out the lights.

What does Bagwell have to do with anything? Plus that's basically the belief of all MLB. Heck most guys if they can hit are moved away from C to preserve them for longevity.

I hate Dusty's reasoning. He's be better off not sharing it IMO.
As much as we're missing Altuve and Uncle Mike, this team is really missing knowing Justin Verlander is going to get the ball every 5 days and wreck shop. I realize he's hurt for the Mets, but that feels more like the most palpable missing piece for me so far in '23.
