Minnesota has 6 guys who will be batting left-handed vs Javier. For Javier's career, LHH's OPS is about 0.165 points higher than RHH. That's significant. That is the difference between Dubon & Tucker this year. If there was a day for an opener, today is that day since Julien, Polanco, & Kepler are at the top of the lineup.

What is CJ's best pitch against lefties?

I'm guessing Taylor will be their defensive replacement in CF. Lewis at third is very interesting, not sure if Gray is a GB or FB guy.
He's an extreme GB guy. 48% GB, 20% FB rest line drives or pop ups

CC has a negative defensive value this year??
In back-to-back years. It looks like he has trouble moving to his left. Between the "bamboo" ankle & plantar fasciitis he doesn't move like he used to.

Please, please, please score a crooked number in the first inning so I can unclench my butthole just a bit

With Lopez lurking for a Game 5 start, I'd sure love to get this one today and close them out tomorrow.

Fastball. Its his best vs either. But he mixes in a lot more change-ups and curveballs vs lefties

Phil is a normal split guy this year. WHIP of 1.60 and 5 HR against LHH, 0.74 and 1 HR against RHH and hes got more IP against RHH. All of the numbers are skewed to the normal split.

One of our issues is we dont have a LH reliever or split guy. Hector is almost equal, Montero is not reverse. Staney has way more K against RHH and also given up way more HR against RHH.

We have been rolling this righty pen for 2 plus years. It works but maybe its because we dont care?

Something a lot of you should print out and stare at for 15 minutes before you check the lineup card each day.

We win today 4-3 in a high stress game.

Tucker goes yard and Abreu comes through with an RBI

Last year at this time Mrs. Marvin and I sat through 18 innings in Seattle, being physically threatened and verbally abused. Haha, I hope this afternoon is not the same level of stress!

Observations from a game I went to there in August
- Overall 'Minnesota Nice' was on display at the ballpark
- Not a rowdy crowd, playoffs of course different animal
- Park is nice, good location, decent beer and food
- Good views of field from seats being relatively new park

Of course the Twins won that game and it was Joe Mauer (who played the game the right way) Night or something. The home team gets behind in a playoff game and you're wearing orange? Who knows…

Our staff vs LHH.

The best bets are Neris, Abreu, & Stanek to get lefties out.

If we don't score in the first

It looks like our next opportunity to score will be the 4th inning

Love these lineups

His "cold month" is about the yearly #s of Dubon.

Guys are hot or cold until they're not. Zoom out and see the bigger picture. Chas is better than Dubon more often than not.

Agreed, but he has not been in this series and we don't have time to wait for positive regression. I don't mind the change. Gray's breaking stuff is exactly what Chas has historically gotten flat out owned by.

Dusty and his quick trigger to pull Chas, yet keeps Abreu in the 5-hole and Maldy in the lineup. Literally infuriating.

Also need one of Bregman or Tucker to produce tbh.

Yordan hit 3 HR in first 2 games can't be counting on him to keep that up

Now this I think is indisputable. He really does care more about his feelings, loyalty through service time, and utterly unsubstantiated opinions more than he does winning.

Oh well. Once again, win or lose, one fewer game until he's gone.

Brown is letting it ride with Dusty this year. He's said his piece but he won't force the issue. Why cause a stink when Dusty is all but gone barring another World Series trophy, and at that point who cares? and we're getting the same roster back minus a RP here and there next year Dana gets to work with

To add to Aiden's tweet.

Grays top two pitches vs RHH is the Sinker & Sweeper (>50% usage between the two)

vs RHP - Sweeper + Sinker
Dubon - .314 wOBA, .275 xwOBA
McCormick - .319 wOBA, .319 xwOBA

If you add the 4 seam and cutter (>88% pitch usage) the gap widens.

vs RHP - Sweeper + Sinker + 4 seam + Cutter
Dubon - .285 wOBA, .280 xwOBA
McCormick - .373 wOBA, .359 xwOBA

On paper, Chas is the better play. No way around it.
